Dey, Boos Homer in Two Losses to New Mexico State

Griffin Dey homered for the second straight day for the Bulldogs and Alex Boos added his first home run of the season on a day when New Mexico State outslugged Yale in a doubleheader sweep.  

The Aggies defeated the Bulldogs 16-5 in game one and 7-3 in the nightcap. 

Dey blasted a three-run shot to tie game two in the sixth.  Tim DeGraw led off with an infield hit and Simon Whitehead walked before scored on the home run.

New Mexico State (8-5) scored three in the bottom of the seventh off of Alex Stiegler, who relieved starter Eric Brodkowitz.  Mason Fishback delivered a two-run single for the big hit of the inning to give the Aggies a 6-3 lead.

Alec Hoeschel went 2-for-4 in game two for the Bulldogs. 

In game one, Yale pounded out 13 hits.  DeGraw, Whiteman, Boos and Harrison White all had a multi-hit game for the Elis.  

DeGraw led off the game with a double and scored on a Whiteman single to give Yale an early 1-0 lead.  New Mexico State scored five in the bottom of first off of Yale starter Tyler Duncan

Dey and Hoeschel had RBI singles in the sixth.  Boos hit a solo homer in the ninth, and Brian Ronai singled, advanced to third on a DeGraw single and scored on a wild pitch.  

The Bulldogs aim for a series split tomorrow with a 2 p.m. matchup against New Mexico State.
