New Mexico State (9-5) outhit the Bulldogs in an 18-5 win in Las Cruces, N.M., on Sunday to take three of four games over the weekend.
Dey had three homers, seven runs batted in and four runs scored in four games against the Aggies, including a two-run homer and two runs scored in Sunday's game. Teammate Simon Whiteman went 2-for-2 before leaving the game and finished the weekend hitting .500 (7 for 14).
For the second time in the series, Yale scored in its first at bat.
Tim DeGraw led off with a single, Whiteman followed with another base hit. Both advanced on a throwing error. DeGraw eventually scored on a wild pitch.
The Aggies answered with 10 runs in the bottom of the first. The lead was extended to 14-2 until the sixth, when Dey launched his two-run homer that scored Harrison White who doubled to lead off the inning.
In the eighth, Hoeschel homered after Dey led off the inning with a walk.
Drew Scott started and took the loss for the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs (1-3) are scheduled to return to action for a game at Stony Brook on Wednesday. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
