Fairfield Defeats Yale, 5-1

The Bulldogs dropped a 5-1 decision at Fairfield on Wednesday afternoon.

Yale (12-12) scored in their first at bat before the Fairfield pitchers combined to keep the Bulldogs scoreless the rest of the game

Richard Slenker singled with one out in the first and advanced to second on an error.  Benny Wanger followed with a walk.  

Slenker and Wanger advanced a base on an error.   Alec Hoeschel singled home Slenker and Wanger was thrown out trying to score.

Fairfield (10-13) scored four runs in the second off Yale starter Drew ScottSam Boies, Thomas Espig and Tyler Sapsford combined for 4 1/3 innings of scoreless relief.  

Tom Fuller went 3 for 3 for Yale today.  

Yale returns to action this weekend with doubleheaders against Columbia and Penn.  Saturday's games against Columbia also mark the home opener for the Bulldogs.
