A day after bringing the go-ahead run to the plate in the ninth in a tight loss to No. 5 Florida, the Bulldogs couldn't keep pace with Gators on Saturday afternoon.

The Gators (12-5) defeated Yale 15-1 in the second of a three-game series.  The two teams will close out the series tomorrow at 1 p.m.

"We didn't do anything well tonight and we paid for it," Yale head coach John Stuper said. "We need to clean some things up and simply play better than we did tonight."

Simon Whiteman and Mason LaPlante each had two hits tonight. LaPlante doubled home Whiteman in the fifth to account for the Bulldogs' only run.

Yale (3-6) did get runners on base against, but couldn't capitalize.  The Bulldogs left eight runners on over the first five innings.

"Clearly Florida is a good team. We knew that coming in," Stuper added. "We need to be tougher and more competitive tomorrow."
