    Red-Hot Penn Knocks Off Yale Penn used a formula that has been quite successful for Yale this season to knock off the Bulldogs in a rare Sunday matinee. The Quakers had a big second half, featured a balanced scoring attack and shared the ball well in a 71-55 win that spoiled Youth Day at the John J. Lee Amphitheater.

    Youth Day Set For Sunday After a rare Saturday off, the Bulldogs are back in action on Sunday, hosting Penn at 1 p.m. It's Youth Day at Lee Amphitheater so there will be a post-game autograph session with the players, face painting and a raffle.

    Hot Shooting Lifts Princeton Over Yale Princeton came into Lee Amphitheater on Friday night and did something that very few opponents have done to Yale in recent years. The Tigers shot lights out. Princeton was 26-of-44 (59.1 percent) from the field and 13-of-23 (56.5 percent) from three-point range, and the result was a 71-52 victory.

    Princeton, Penn Visit On Alumni Weekend Yale won’t have to wait long for the opportunity to start a new home winning streak. The Bulldogs are back in the friendly confines of the John J. Lee Amphitheater in Payne Whitney Gym this weekend, hosting Princeton on Friday at 8 p.m. in the second game of a doubleheader with the Yale women and Penn in a rare Sunday matinee at 1 p.m. Both games can be seen on the Ivy League Digital Network. ESPN3 also has the video on Friday, while Sunday’s game will be syndicated by the American Sports Network. It will be available in the New Haven area on NESN+ and SNY. Click here for a complete list of the networks that will air the game. In addition, Friday’s game is the Westwood One Radio national game of the week with Scott Graham and Clark Kellogg on the call. The broadcast airs on Sirius XM channel 81 in addition to a number of radio stations across the nation.

    Back And Forth Ivy Battle Goes To Harvard The Bulldogs’ first home loss in nearly two years didn’t come without a serious fight. Yale and Harvard went back-and-forth for much of the night before the Crimson used a late run to escape with a 75-67 win before a packed house of 2,532 at the John J. Lee Amphitheater.

    Back At Home, Bulldogs Roll Over Dartmouth 73-64 Yale’s balanced attack was on full display Friday against Dartmouth. Seven players scored at least eight points as the Bulldogs cruised to a 73-64 victory over the Big Green at the John. J. Lee Amphitheater.

    Downey Named Academic All-District Sam Downey is making the most of his final year at Yale. Downey has played a big role in another strong season for the Bulldogs, who have won 11 of their last 13 games and sit at 5-1 in Ivy League play. He also has shined in the classroom, and as a result, has been named to the CoSIDA Academic District 1 first team.

    Bulldogs Back Home To Host Dartmouth, Harvard Yale hasn’t seen much of the John J. Lee Amphitheater so far this Ivy season. That begins to change this weekend when the Bulldogs host the first of two straight home weekends. Dartmouth visits on Friday and Harvard comes to town on Saturday.     Gritty Bulldogs Hold Off Cornell 78-71 First the lights went out at Newman Arena. Then Miye Oni and Jordan Bruner got hot and it was lights out for Cornell. Oni scored 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds and Bruner added 15 points and eight rebounds as Yale completed a weekend sweep with a 78-71 victory over the Big Red.

    Power Outage Stops Yale-Cornell Game; Will Resume Sunday At Noon First a power outage caused the start of Saturday's Yale's-Cornell to be delayed 1 hour, 50 minutes. Then just 1:33 into the game, the power went out again. As a result, the game will now be resumed on Sunday at noon with Yale leading 2-0 and 18:27 left in the first half.

    Balanced Attack Leads Yale Over Columbia Yale found itself in very unfamiliar territory at halftime of Friday’s game at Columbia. The Bulldogs were being badly outrebounded. It turned in a big way in the second half and the results were quite impressive. Yale scored 49 points, held the Lions to 39 percent from the field and controlled the boards in rolling to an 87-78 victory, silencing a near sellout crowd of 2,187 at Levien Gym.

    New York Road Trip On Tap It’s been an exciting start to Ivy play for the Bulldogs, who have won three of their first four league games, including a dramatic rally last Friday in an 85-75 victory over Brown. Next up is the annual swing through New York state.     Dallier Named Ivy Player Of Week Anthony Dallier did a little bit of everything to help Yale to an important Ivy League win over Brown on Friday, finishing with 30 points, seven assists, six rebounds and four steals as the Bulldogs won for the ninth time in their last 11 games.     Dynamic Second Half Comeback Leads Yale Over Brown The Bulldogs’ long home winning streak looked to be in serious jeopardy when they found themselves trailing Brown by 10, 58-48, midway through the second half. Yale responded with its most dynamic 13 minutes in recent memory, outscoring the Bears 37-17 the rest of the way en route to an 85-75 victory before a raucous crowd at the John J. Lee Amphitheater.

Lee Amphitheater in Payne Whitney Gym and knocking off the Bulldogs. The rest of the college basketball world is starting to take notice as well. Yale has won 20 straight games in the historic venue, the fifth longest active home winning streak in the nation. The Bulldogs seek their 21st consecutive victory when Brown comes to town on Friday. Sam Downey scored 19 of his team-high 26 points over the final 20 minutes, and Miye Oni made four three-pointers in the final 3:29 as the Bulldogs overcame a 12-point deficit to knock off Brown 75-74 before a stunned crowd of 1,217 at the Pizzitola Center.

    Ivy League Play Kicks Off At Penn, Princeton The most notable change to Ivy League basketball in 2017 is the addition of the post-season tournament. That will come in March. So for now, the Bulldogs are focused on another variation – their opponent for the league opener. Since 2005, Yale has kicked off Ivy play with travel partner Brown. Not this year. The Bulldogs head to Penn for their first league game and then have a Saturday night date at Princeton. Both games are part of doubleheaders with the women so tipoff is slated for 8 p.m. on each night.     Temple Edges Yale 83-77 Yale held Obi Enechionyia, Temple’s leading scorer, to 1-of-11 shooting and three points, nearly 14 below his season average. Alani Moore II, though, more than picked up the slack. Moore scored 26 points in 37 minutes as the Owls held off the Bulldogs 83-77 before a crowd of 4,775 at the Liacouras Center.

    Central Connecticut Becomes Yale’s Latest Victim At JLA Yale put on an offensive clinic Tuesday night at the John J. Lee Amphitheater. The Bulldogs shot nearly 58 percent from the field, made 14 three-pointers and had assists on 20 of their 33 field goals. And, oh by the way, the defense was pretty good as well. The result was a very impressive 90-59 victory over Central Connecticut.
