Three-Peat is First For Yale Heavyweights
PRINCETON, N.J. – The Yale Heavyweight varsity oarsmen are coming off a third straight EARC Sprints Championship and a perfect dual racing season. The victory at Worcester last Sunday gave nine in that boat first-team All-Ivy League status.
The Bulldogs, the No. 1 seed at the Sprints last weekend, edged Harvard for the gold medal in one of the closest races ever on Lake Quinsigamond. The three-peat is the first for the program which now sets its focus on the IRA National Championships on June 2-4 at Gold River, Calif.
The Yale 1V is ranked second in the country behind Washington in the latest CMAX poll. Harvard and California are third and fourth, and they will all have a shot at a national championship next month.
