NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- With the dual season behind them, the Bulldogs look to compete in 6-lane championship races, beginning with the EARC Sprints Regatta this Sunday in Worcester, Mass. The Bulldogs are also the defending Ivy League champions.

Competing for Yale will be four eights and a fifth varsity four. Yale's third varsity eight opens the weekend at 8:20 a.m. against crews from Cornell, Harvard, Georgetown and Dartmouth. The Yale 3V enters the competition ranked first, having gone 8-0 in the regular season. Yale's second varsity heat is at 11:00 a.m with crews from Princeton, Pennsylvania, Columbia and MIT, seeded in that order. Yale was ranked second in the second varsity event having also achieved 7-1 in the regular season.

The Yale 4V, ranked 5th, races against Harvard, Navy, Princeton, Cornell, Pennsylvania and Dartmouth.

The Sprints is special for the lightweight crew as it is the last opportunity of the season for the team to compete as a whole. The team will be seeking to retain the Jope Cup for overall lightweight team supremacy at the Sprints. Following the sprints, most athletes will depart for their summer vacations with a select squad traveling to Lake Natoma, Calif., for the IRA National Championship Regatta.
