Bulldogs Finish in Fifth at Princeton Invitational

Princeton, N.J. – The Yale men's golf team shot a combined 3-under-par in the final round of the Princeton Invitational to secure a fifth-place finish. For Yale (873), senior Jonathan Lai posted the best score of any Bulldogs, a 3-over 216, to finish tied for eighth among all players while sophomore James Nicholas's 4-over 217 put him in a tie for 11th overall.   

Seton Hall (853) won both the individual and team titles after shooting an 8-under 276 on Sunday at Springsdale Golf Club. Lloyd Jefferson Go anchored the Pirates with his 9-under 204 for the event to capture the individual championship by edging out Harvard's Aurian Capart and Princeton's Michael Davis. Harvard (858) placed second as a team followed by Princeton (862) and Minnesota (869) who earned third and fourth respectively. 

Senior and captain Li Wang finished in a tie for 26th alongside fellow teammates sophomore Jake Leffew and junior Will Bernstein after each member of the Bulldog trio shot an 8-over 221 for the two-day compeition. Sophomore Eoin Leonard rounded out Yale's lineup with his 13-over 226 that put him in a tie for 48th. Lai's 12 birdies were the second most by any player at the event.
