First Year Named Goalie of the Week
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Gianna Meloni has been named the ECAC Goaltender of the week, the league office announced Tuesday. The first year net-minder posted a 2-0-0 record with a 1.00 goals against average and a .966 save percentage in wins over Harvard and Dartmouth, including a 28 save shutout.
Meloni has been on fire since the calendar flipped to 2018, going 5-0-0 with three shutouts in January. Her .945 save percentage for the season is tied for second best in the nation, and is first in the ECAC, while her 1.54 goals against average is seventh nationally and second among ECAC goalies. Her three shutouts are tied for the most among all first year goaltenders.
