First Year Earns Second Award in January

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - After being named ECAC Goaltender of the Week at the end of January, Gianna Meloni was not done. The league office announced Thursday that Meloni was named ECAC Goaltender of the Month for January after posting a 5-0-0 record.

Meloni dominated January, with five wins to go along with three shutouts. Her .945 save percentage currently leads the ECAC while her 1.54 goals against average ranks second. Her personal win percentage of .688  with her 5-2-1 record is fourth in the league and second nationally among first year students. When it comes to conference play, nobody has played better in net than Meloni. During ECAC games, Meloni's .949 save percentage and 1.44 goals against average lead the league.

Meloni is the first Bulldog to win an ECAC monthly award since Krista Yip-Chuck was named Player of the Month for November of 2016.
