Yale Falls At Cornell
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The bottom fell out for the Yale Bulldogs on Friday night against a tough ranked Cornell Big Red squad. Cornell outshot Yale 50-10 on its way to a 4-0 home victory.
Yale (9-13-4, 7-10-2 ECAC) was facing its third ranked opponent on the road in three February games, and fell for the third time. The Bulldogs did manage solid goaltending from Tera Hofmann, who made 39 saves on 40 shots in relief of Gianna Meloni.
Cornell (16-7-3, 12-5-2) entered the game ranked sixth in the nation. The Big Red managed more shots in the second (19) and third (23) periods than Yale had the whole game.
Yale returns to action against Colgate on Saturday afternoon.
