ECAC Playoffs Within Reach

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - As the Yale Bulldogs host their final weekend series of the season, their eyes are set on both their opponents and the postseason.

Yale hosts the Princeton Tigers and Quinnipiac Bobcats at Ingalls Rink on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Friday's game will be at 6 p.m. while there is a 3 p.m. start time for Saturday's in-state battle.

Yale sits one point ahead of Rensselaer and four points ahead of Union. The Bulldogs do not have the tiebreaker against the Engineers, but hold it over the Dutchwomen. Yale can clinch a playoff spot with two wins in two games over the weekend, or one win and an RPI loss. If Rensselaer loses both games in their weekend series against Colgate and Cornell, Yale clinches a playoff spot.

The Bulldogs are coming off of a tough start to February, going 0-4-0 against four ranked teams with each game on the road. They are 0-1-0 against Princeton this season, losing 3-0, but are 2-0-1 against Quinnipiac, allowing only three goals in three games.

The final weekend also represents the final home weekend for the Yale seniors. Kara Drexler, Emily Monaghan, Eden Murray, Mallory Souliotis, Kaitlin Gately, Courtney Pensavalle, and Grace Wickens each will be finishing up their final home weekend.
