Bulldogs Win Back-to-Back Against Brown

Four Elis Score in Conference Win

 


Providence, R.I. - The Yale women's hockey team has had no shortage of offense since skating back into conference play, defeating Brown 4-1 on Saturday at Meehan Auditorium.

 

One night after beating the Bears 5-2, off the tallies of four different skaters, the Bulldogs took Saturday's contest with an equal depth in production.

 

Senior captain Emma Vlasic opened the scoring about as quickly as physically possible. Vlasic bundled the twine just seven seconds into regulation; she was assisted by senior defenseman Julia Yetman, putting Yale up 1-0.

 

Brown answered the Bulldogs seven minutes later, knotting the score 1-1, but Yetman followed up her first-period assist with a first-period goal to give Yale a 2-1 lead with under a minute left in the period. First-year forwards Claire Dalton and Rebecca Vanstone recorded the assists on the play, Vanstone's third assist in two games.

 

Vanstone would continue her hot streak late in the second period, notching her third goal in two games as well. The Mississauga native pushed the Bulldogs' lead to 4-1 with her team-leading ninth goal.

 

First-year and junior defensemen Emma Seitz and Saroya Tinker picked up the assists on Vanstone's goal. Seitz has moved the puck well, recording her fourth assist in her last three games.

 

The offense continued with sophomore Rebecca Foggia, who gave the Bulldogs a 3-1 lead in the second with her tally. Jordan Chancellor and Laura Anderson set up Foggia for her third goal this season.

 

Junior netminder Tera Hofmann was sturdy in net, making 19 saves on 20 shots. Her save percentage improves to .919.

 

The Elis continue ECAC play on the road next weekend against Clarkson and St. Lawrence.
