Bella Hindley of the Yale women's swimming and diving team will represent the Bulldogs at the 2019 NCAA Division I Women's Swimming and Diving Championships later this month. The championships will take place at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin, Texas from March 20-23. Hindley will be one of 281 swimmers at the meet.
Hindley enjoyed an incredibly impressive senior campaign, breaking both Yale and Ivy League records. The 2019 Ivy League Championships served as the culmination of Hindley's collegiate brilliance. Within a span of three days, Hindley broke records in all three of her events.
Hindley set an Ivy League Championship meet record in the 100-yard freestyle, swimming the event in 47.85 seconds. She also set the meet record for the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.83 seconds. That time also set the all-time Yale women's swimming record.
In the 100-yard backstroke at the 2019 Ivy League Championships, Hindley touched in 52.12 seconds, breaking not only the meet and Yale record for the event, but also the all-time Ivy League record.
Hindley will be swimming in all three events at the Division I Championships. She will swim the 50-yard freestyle on Thursday, the 100-yard backstroke on Friday, and the 100-yard freestyle on Saturday.
