LONDON – It was a tough night for Yale alum Kate Grace '11 at the IAAF World Championships. Running in the first heat of the semifinal of the 1,500-meter run, she was up against some of the world's all-time best. Among her competition was the world record holder in this event, Genzebe Dibaba, as well as other strong athletes. Unfortunately, Grace finished outside of qualifying, running 4:16.70 for 11th.
Though Grace was not able to advance, her fellow American teammate Jenny Simpson qualified for the 12-woman final, which will take place Monday at 9:50 p.m. EST. The results of this weekend's meet can be found at this link.
