NEW HAVEN, Conn. - On Saturday evening, representatives from the New England Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association cancelled both the Sharpe Trophy and the Thames River Team Race due to high-velocity wind forecasts and below-freezing temperatures. The events were to be held at Brown and Connecticut College this weekend, respectively.

Next weekend, a small group will head to the national championship venue for the Charleston Coed Spring Fleet Race, while the remaining members of the team will head to St. Petersburg, Fla., to team race with alumni.

The Charleston group will join the rest of the team in Florida on Sunday evening. The Bulldogs will spend the first week of spring break brushing up on boat handling, team racing and fleet racing techniques to prepare for a successful spring season.
