The Yale co-ed sailing team travels to Boston this weekend to compete in the 38th Lynne Marchiando Interconference Trophy, where they'll strive to repeat last weekend's win against the top NEISA teams. A second team will compete in the Jumbo Team Race at Tufts, while a third team heads to the BU Trophy Fleet Race.
38th Lynne Marchiando Trophy – MIT
Alternate: Cate Mollerus
Jumbo Team Race – Tufts
Middle: Nick Marwell / Helena Ware
Alternate: Becca Rose
BU Trophy – Boston University
The MIT team-racers and the fleet racing team are forecasted to start off the day in 6 knot wind that gradually builds to 15 with puffs of 30. This will be a great opportunity for the fleet-racers to test their skills in a variety of conditions, but might prove tricky for the team racers to execute maneuvers in high speed winds at the end of the day. Sunday is forecasted to range from 5 - 9 knots with gusts of 10 - 16, ideal weather for both teams. The team race team at Tufts will experience similar Saturday conditions, but on Sunday will sail in slightly faster winds with gusts of 15 - 18.
Racing begins on Saturday and can be followed live at https://collegesailing.org/
