The Yale offense exploded for 16 hits on Friday night and Scott Politz tossed seven solid innings in a 13-3 win over Stetson in Deland, Florida.

Yale improved to 4-9 overall, while Stetson fell to 7-10.  The two teams will play again on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.

Teddy Hague delivered a grand slam and Dai Dai Otaka had four hits to cap the Bulldogs' highest single-game run total of the season.  Griffin Dey, Cal Christofori and Tim DeGraw all had two hits apiece.

Mason LaPlante plated Simon Whiteman on a RBI-ground out to open the scoring in the first and Christofori singled home Jake Gehri to give Yale a 2-0 lead before Stetson's first at bat.

Hague, fresh off a 3-for-3 performance on Wednesday, cleared the bases with a home run to right in the third.

Otaka added a two-run single in the fourth.  He finished 4 for 5 with a walk and three RBI.

Politz (3-1) took advantage of the run support to win his third game in four starts.  The righty allowed three earned runs, struck out 11 and walked one over seven innings.

Matthew Erickson and Cole Shelton each tossed one inning of scoreless relief to close out the win.
