The Bulldogs take a two-game winning streak into a conference-opening, three-game series at Brown this weekend.  The two teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday and a single game on Sunday.

Yale defeated Quinnipiac, 11-2, in its home-opener last Wednesday.  First-year Ben Gibbs earned the first win of his collegiate career with the help of hot hitting.

Gibbs tossed five scoreless innings, struck out five and allowed only one hit.  The offense did the rest.

Griffin Dey launched a grand slam, drove in six runs in the game and was a double short of hitting for the cycle.  He's now 8 for his last 16 at the plate entering the weekend.

The Bulldogs on Wednesday as a staff allowed only two hits to Quinnipiac.  It marked a continued trend of the Bulldogs receiving solid pitching.

Last Saturday, Alex Stiegler struck out a career-high 14 batters without a walk over eight innings in a victory at Stetson to earn Ivy League Pitcher of the Week honors.  It marked the third time this season a Bulldog had won the award (Scott Politz has done so twice).

Brown has been off since last Sunday.  In their last game, the Bears defeated Fairfield, 9-8, to split a four-game series with the Stags.

Yale last season swept the three-game season from Brown with three wins at Yale Field.
