The Bulldogs dropped to 11-17 overall and enter the weekend 5-4 in league play, one game out of first place in the Ivy League standings.
Sacred Heart scored two in the ninth to take the lead and earn the victory after the Bulldogs came back from an early deficit.
Trailing 6-1 entering the bottom of the fifth, Dey blasted a three-run shot to left to score Whiteman and Pierce Blohowiak. Whiteman added a two-run homer in the sixth to tie the game.
Dey led off the eighth with a solo shot to left to give the Bulldogs an 8-7 edge. Dey had four RBI in the game and now leads Yale on the season with seven homers and 31 runs batted in.
Brian Ronai and Blohowiak both had three hits in the game for the Bulldogs, who tied a season-best 16 hits in the game for the third time this season.
The Bulldogs host Columbia this weekend for a three-game series. Columbia enters the weekend 6-3 in Ivy League play, one game ahead of Yale.
