Set For Saturday's Semifinal With Harvard
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Ivy Madness is under way and the Bulldogs spent their first day in Philadelphia putting the finishing touches on their preparation for Saturday's semifinal game against Harvard at 4 p.m.
Yale met the media, including chatting with Mike Couzens and Dalen Cuff who will have the call of the game on ESPNU, held a 50-minute public practice at the Palestra followed by a more intense 55-minute session in Penn's Weightman Hall.
"We need to play a full 40 minutes," James Jones, The Joel E. Smilow, Class of 1954 Head Coach of the Bulldogs, told the media. "We didn't play our best basketball in the second half [in the first two games with Harvard]."
Yale had the lead the lead at halftime in each of the two regular season games with the Crimson.
On Friday night, the coaches and administrative staff attended a pre-tournament reception at the Palestra. Executive Director of the Ivy League Robin Harris praised the success Ivy League Basketball has enjoyed on the national level and congratulated the Legends of Ivy League Basketball, including former Yale head coach Joe Vanciscin.
