Bulldogs Earn NABC Team Academic Award For Sixth Straight Year

Yale Honors Six with Awards at Senior Student-Athlete Reception
May 18, 2019Six seniors were honored by the Yale Athletics Department with awards at the annual senior student-athlete reception Saturday afternoon at the Lanman Center in Payne Whitney Gymnasium. Trey Phills (Charlotte, N.C.) of the men’s basketball team and Kate Zendell (Suffern, N.Y.) of the women’s cross country and track and field teams were the recipients of the Ford Student-Athlete Community Outreach Award. Carrie Heilbrun (Fairfax Station, Va.) of the women’s swimming and diving team and Simon Whiteman (Trumbull, Conn.) of the baseball team were the recipients of the Kiphuth Student-Athlete Distinction Award. Shelby Kennedy (Vail, Ariz.) of the softball team and James Kochanski (Colorado Springs, Colo.) of the men’s soccer team were the recipients of the Meyer Humanitarian Award. -
Jones Signs Contract Extension Through 2026
May 16, 2019James Jones, the winningest men’s basketball coach in Yale history, has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the helm of the program through 2026, Director of Athletics Vicky Chun announced. -

Since announcing in March that he would request an NBA Undergraduate Advisory Committee evaluation to help identify his professional basketball options, Oni has been hard at work fine tuning all aspects of his game in addition to taking a full load of classes as a political science major. -
Feinberg Named To USA Team For European Maccabi Games
May 06, 2019First year Michael Feinberg will compete on the international stage this summer. Feinberg, who appeared in eight games for the Bulldogs this winter, has been named to the USA Open Men’s Basketball Team for the 15th European Maccabi Games, which will take place July 28-Aug. 7 in Budapest, Hungary. -

March 16, 2019Yale’s experience was never more important than the final five minutes of Saturday’s IvyMadness semifinal game vs. Princeton. Led by their upperclassmen, the Bulldogs overcame a seven-point deficit, playing nearly flawlessly down the stretch in outscoring the Tigers 21-8 to earn a hard-fought 83-77 victory before a big crowd at the John J. March 14, 2019After a very successful regular season, Yale is set to begin its quest to earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament. The Bulldogs, who shared the Ivy League title with Harvard, are the No. 2 seed in the Ivy League Tournament, presented by TIAA, and meet No. 3 Princeton in the second semifinal on Saturday in the friendly confines of the John J. Lee Amphitheater. The tip is slated for 3 p.m. after No. 1 Harvard and No. 4 Penn play at 12:30 p.m. in the first semifinal. Both games will be televised on ESPNU with Mike Couzens and Dalen Cuff on the call. -
Oni Named Ivy Player Of Year, Copeland Earns First Team Recognition
March 12, 2019Miye Oni sits among the Ivy League leaders in just about every statistical category. So it shouldn’t come as a great surprise that he has been named the Ivy League Player of the Year. Oni is the third Bulldog to win the award, joining Paul Maley, the 1988 recipient, and Justin Sears, who won the award in both 2015 and 2016. -
