Joins His Older Brother On United States Roster
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – First year Michael Feinberg will compete on the international stage this summer. Feinberg, who appeared in eight games for the Bulldogs this winter, has been named to the USA Open Men's Basketball Team for the 15th European Maccabi Games, which will take place July 28-Aug. 7 in Budapest, Hungary.
Feinberg will be joined on the USA roster by his older brother Robbie Feinberg, who recently completed his senior season at Harvard, and Penn's Jacob Silpe. Others on the team are Austin Peay's Eli Abaev, Grant Greenberg of the University of Saint Mary '17, Claremont McKenna College's Jeremy Horn, American University's Sam Iorio, Case Western Reserve University's Austin Lavitt, Julian Marx of Grinnell College '17, Manhattan College's Daniel Schreier and Stanford's Jared Wulbrun.
Jake Rauchback, who played and coached at Drexel, will serve as the head coach.
Feinberg is a native of Hidden Hills, California, and was a 2018 Gold Coast League first team selection at Viewpoint School. He attended Sierra Canyon High School for grades 9-11 and helped Sierra to the 2015 CIF Division 4 state championship
The European Maccabi Games are a high-level athletic competition for Jewish athletes from all over the world.
Maccabi USA will bring a team of 200+ athletes who will join the other 2,000 Jewish athletes from 29 countries, participating in 22 different sports.
