Bulldogs Honored as Scholar-Athletes
Hampshire Society Members are senior starters or significant contributors completing their final year of eligibility in 2018 and have maintained a 3.2 cumulative GPA throughout their entire undergraduate career.
Roman, a defensive end and history major from New London, Conn., finished his playing career with 55 tackles in 32 games, including six sacks. He helped the Elis win a 2017 Ivy League Championship with 21 tackles and three sacks.
Horn was Yale's kickoff specialist and backup placekicker and punter. The Davie, Fla., native and political science major played in 17 games over his career. He had 45 kickoffs last year and 20 of them were touchbacks.
"Any type of recognition related to the National Football Foundation is special, so being honored as an NFF Hampshire Honor Society member epitomizes the elite level our players aim to achieve in the classroom," said Tony Reno, Yale's Joel E. Smilow '54 Head Coach, who had a very young group of regulars in the lineup last fall.
