Stanford, Calif. – Captain and senior James Nicholas now sits in a tie for 52nd at the Stanford Regional after shooting a five-over, 70 in the second round and is at 145 overall for the tournament. Sophomore Teddy Zinsner, Yale's other NCAA qualifier, is two strokes behind Nicholas and tied for 58th following rounds of 73 and 74.
No. 12 Stanford increased its opening-day lead to 10 strokes with a nine-under, 271 on Tuesday while No. 2 Arizona State and No. 26 North Carolina are tied for second. The Cardinal's Isaiah Salinda leads all 75 individuals at seven-under while teammates Brandon Wu and David Snyder are also in the top four along with Sarut Vongchaisit of Ole Miss.
The third and final round begins at 8 a.m. PST on Wednesday at Stanford Golf Course.
