Yale Wins 4th Straight
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – TD Ierlan quickly snatched the opening face-off before Brendan Rooney converted the Jackson Morrill feed just 43 seconds into the cross-county contest at Reese Stadium. The No. 4 Yale Men's Lacrosse team was off and running to a 24-8 victory over Quinnipiac in the Bulldogs' final home game.
Fourteen different players found the net in Yale's fourth straight win, while the home team enjoyed a 63-28 advantage in shots and a 46-21 domination in ground balls.
Morrill had 2 goals and 6 assists to lead all players with 8 points. Jack Tigh and Matt Brandau each chipped in 3-2-5. Brandau final point of the night established a new Yale points standard for rookies at 44.
The Elis (10-2) used all four goalies, including starter Jack Starr (6 saves), and every healthy player on the roster to improve its home record this spring to 7-1.
Yale, which has won all five meetings with Quinnipiac after the most lopsided margin in the series, travels to Harvard on Saturday to close out the 2019 regular season.
