CANTON, N.Y.—The No. 8 ranked Yale men's squash team fell 7-2 to No. 3 St. Lawrence on Saturday after a hard-fought match with many close games.
The match was competitive and exciting with many wins from the Bulldogs, including an opening game win from sophomore Spencer Lovejoy at the No. 1 spot.
Yale never backed down in its fight against one of the best teams in the country, an effort that showed throughout the entire lineup.
The middle of Yale's lineup did their best to hold off St. Lawrence, with four matches forced beyond three games. The Bulldogs showed their tenacity when they made the Saints work hard for every point.
Yale will need to recover from their loss quickly as they hit the road yet again to compete against No. 6 Rochester on Sunday. The Bulldogs will be challenged, but have the depth and skill required to unseat the Yellowjackets if they are confident in their ability.
The team will hit the court against Rochester starting at 12:00 p.m.
