HARTFORD, Conn.—The Yale men's squash team is one step closer to victory in the Hoehn Cup bracket of the 2018 College Men's National Team Championships. The No. 9 Bulldogs advance to the final round of competition after a dominant 8-1 win over No. 13 Brown in the semifinals.

Yale had a fantastic showing on Saturday with wins across the entire lineup. The Bulldogs fought for every point in several close matches where Brown came ready to compete for their chance at the Hoehn Cup final.

Senior Max Martin had one of the most impressive matches of the day, a five-game saga at the No. 3 spot. Martin came out strong with an 11-3 win to start off the match, but his competitor answered with a win in the second game. The pair traded off wins in the third and fourth games before Martin closed in the fifth and final game in a definitive 11-8.

The Bulldogs will compete again on Sunday against No. 10 George Washington University for the Hoehn Cup title. The match will begin at 11:00 a.m. and can be streamed live here.
