The Yale men's tennis team had quite a successful day Saturday at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center and looks to be rounding out into peak physical form as the fall season nears a close.
The Bulldogs broke out of the gates early, taking three out of four doubles matches to start the day. Junior sensation Dylan King and first-year standout Michael Sun won two straight doubles matches against St. John's University and Boston College, respectively. Sun carried this momentum into singles with a hard-earned 7-5, 7-6 victory over Quinnipiac's Zaretsky. Sophomore duo Alan Sou and Cody Lin triumphed over UCONN and Sou then came out firing against Dartmouth's Pritzker to eventually take the match 6-2, 6-4. Although senior Nathan Brown and junior Camille Kima fell in a tough doubles match against UCONN, they were able to bounce back quickly in singles. Brown took down Marist's Oxner 7-6, 6-2, while Kima was edged out by Boston College's Flanagan before downing Sacred Heart's Del Valle in two competitive matches. Singles and doubles match play will resume Sunday to conclude the Connecticut State Championship.
