Yale wrapped up the fall season Sunday with the conclusion of the Connecticut State Championship and looks very strong heading into the spring season. Several Yale players put up stellar performances, with Michael Sun and Dylan King taking home the doubles title and Sun wining his respective singles bracket as well. Sunday's full results can be found at the bottom of this page.
King and Sun are undefeated together on the doubles court, withstanding formidable competition this past weekend as they advanced through the top doubles bracket. To round this out, first-year trailblazer Sun did not let this win get to his head and displayed his all-court prowess in the finals of singles, beating Boston College's Austin in a close three-set match. Senior Captain Nathan Brown and junior Camille Kima fell in a tight doubles match to Boston College, but then stepped out onto the singles court unphased. Brown would prove his toughness and physicality as he defeated Fairfield's Orban in another marathon three-setter, while Kima was edged by Quinnipiac's Alexander in another hard-fought match. Junior powerhouse Ryan Cheng put on a show for an enthusiastic Yale home crowd with a decisive 6-2, 6-3 win over Fairfield's Shibles. The Elis look poised for a strong spring campaign and will kick off their season on January 15th against Brown.
