NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Yale men's track and field team will be sending two athletes to Cambridge, Mass., this Friday for the Harvard Crimson Elite meet. Being as the Bulldogs have had to travel each of the last two weeks, most of the team will remain in New Haven this weekend to sharpen up for next week's Boston University Valentine Invitational. The Harvard Crimson Elite meet will be held at the Gordon Indoor Track on Harvard's campus.
Austin Laut will be the first Bulldog to compete, with the pole vault set to begin at 2:00 p.m. Laut has been steadily improving since the winter break, and is coming off a victory at Harvard-Yale-Princeton. His entry this weekend shows that he has his sights set on improving as much as possible with Ivy Heps only three weeks away.
Jack Dunn will be competing in the weight throw around 2:30 p.m., after the women are finished. Dunn just set a new personal record of 16.33m at Harvard-Yale-Princeton, over a meter of improvement since the Season Opener. He is currently ranked eighth in the Ivy League, and is only a few inches behind sixth; if he continues his upward trend, he could definitely shoot up the rankings by Ivy Heps.
