NEW HAVEN, Conn. – For the fourth time this season, first-year forward Camilla Emsbo (Lakewood, Colo.) of the Yale women's basketball team has been named Ivy League Rookie of the Week. The league announced the award on Monday.
Emsbo had her fifth double-double of the season in Yale's lone game of the week, Friday morning at Brown. She scored a career-high 26 points and led the team with 10 rebounds along with three blocks.
Emsbo also earned the Rookie of the Week honor for the week of Nov. 5, the week of Dec. 3 and the week of Dec. 10. She leads the Ivy League in rebounds per game (8.9) and is second in blocks per game (1.9). She is second on the team in scoring (12.0 points per game). Defensively, she has helped Yale hold five of last six opponents to 55 or fewer points.
Emsbo was a five-star ESPN recruit out of Lakewood High, and ESPN ranked her as the No. 34 best recruit in the country (sixth-best at her position). She was the Gatorade Player of the Year for Colorado.
Emsbo is in Branford College at Yale. Her identical twin sister, Kira, plays for Princeton.
Yale (10-6, 0-1 Ivy League) hosts Brown Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
