Erica Korb and Sada Jacobson won the gold medals in epee and saber as the Bulldogs' womens team finished fourth at the IFA Championships for fencing, hosted by Brown University.

Combined with the men's team, Yale finished fourth overall.

Yale's saber group finished second behind Penn with 27 victories. Jacobson won the qualifying rounds with 11 victories to earn the No. 1 seed for the individual tournament, while Carly Guss picked up 7 wins and Erin Frey added 9. In the individual round, Jaccbson dispatched teammate Frey 15-2 before defeating Ali DiQuollo 15-4 and Katelyn Sherry 15-3 to move into the finals, where she faced her sister Emily, who attends Columbia. Yale's Jacobson defeated Emily 15-7 to earn the gold medal.

In epee, Yale earned 18 victories to finish sixth as a team. Korb picked up seven wins, while Isadora Botwinick came in with five and Anne Nguyen and Katie Burghardt each had three. Earning the No. 4 seed in the individuals, Korb advanced to the finals on the strength of a 12-7 win over Christine Livoti, a 13-12 victory over Lauren Willock, and a 12-11 win against Meghan Phair. In the finals the Yalie bested Morgan Midgley 15-10 for the gold.

Yale's foil squad came in fifth in the team standings with 21 victories, including 9 from Alisa Mendelsohn. Mendelsohn defeated Chantal Dewey 15-4 in the opening round of the individuals, but fell 15-2 to Chloe Stinetorf to finish in fifth place overall.

Yale hosts the NCAA regionals next weekend in Payne Whitney gym.
