4th Bulldog to Earn POY

PRINCETON, N.J.  -  Ami Gianchandani, Yale's first-year golf standout, has been named Ivy League Player and Rookie of the Year in a vote by the coaches. This is the fourth time an Eli women's player has earned player of the year honors and the second time someone has simultaneously been named both rookie and player of the year.

Gianchandani, the school's first player/rookie winner since Seo Hee Moon in 2011, took top honors in her first tournament as a Bulldog at the Dartmouth Invitational last fall. She also won at Princeton last fall.

The former star at The Pingry School (Short Hills, N.J., native) continued her amazing play this spring, averaging 73.88 per round over nine tournaments. She won the Pinehurst Invitational and was among the top 10 at two other events. Her lowest round was a 66, and she finished fourth overall last weekend at the Ivy League Championships.
