NEW HAVEN, Conn. - After a spectacular performance at Towson, first-year Jacey Baldovino was named ECAC Rookie of the Week for second time this season.
Baldovino has been a dominant force in Yale's lineup since her competitive debut at Rutgers. She scored an impressive 38.650 in the all-around at her first collegiate meet, leading Yale to its best team score for a season opener in school history. Her competition also included a 9.650, 9.550, 9.725 and 9.725.
In a dual meet against Penn, Baldovino continued her streak of success. Her score of 38.350 in the all-around earned the rookie a first-place finish. Baldovino also once again shined on all four events earning a 9.650, 9.475, 9.575 and 9.650. These scores led Yale to a season best overall performance with a team score of 191.475.
Last weekend at Towson, Baldovino proved her consistency and progression by earning season high scores on vault (9.675), bars (9.800) and floor (9.750). These scores led her to a new season all-around high score of a 38.825, earning her ECAC Rookie of the Week for the second week in a row.
Look for Baldovino to continue to be a factor on all events as the Bulldogs travel to Iowa State Friday to take on the home team, Northern Illinois and West Virginia.
