NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Following a strong first-place finish at the Don Tonry Bulldog Invitational, the Yale gymnastics team will once again compete at home Saturday as William and Mary (W&M) come to town to take on the Bulldogs in a dual meet. The meet will serve as preparation for the Ivy Classic, which is one week away.

Like the Bulldogs, the Tribe is coming off a season-high 193.650 and third-place finish at a quad meet hosted by Maryland last Sunday afternoon. The host Terps claimed the team title with a 196.575 and were followed by Rutgers (193.950), W&M (193.650) and Brown (193.325). The Tribe's team scores have been comparable to the Bulldogs' throughout the 2018 season, which indicates the competition will be fierce Saturday.

The meet also serves as senior day for the members of the class of 2018. Seniors Allison Bushman, Megan Ryan and Sloane Smith will be honored for their accomplishments throughout their four years after the competition. Captain Bushman was a consistent presence on the uneven bars for the Bulldogs for the first three years of her Yale career. Expect Ryan to be a factor on her specialty event: uneven bars. Look for Smith to lead the Bulldogs off on floor exercise, which will be the last event of the day for the Bulldogs.

Look out for first-year Jacey Baldovino on balance beam. The rookie scored a huge career high (9.925) to finish first on the event at the Don Tonry Invitational. Fellow first-year Charlotte Cooperman also had a huge performance on the balance beam for the Bulldogs, scoring a career high 9.750 and finishing in the top five amongst the tough competition. Sophomores Jade Buford and Emma Firmstone will also be a factor in the all-around competition.

The meet also serves as Youth Day. There will be a raffle and autographs with the team following the competition.

The meet is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. with senior day festivities taking place after the competition. The meet will also be streamed on the Ivy League Network here.
