Baldovino Honored By ECAC 7th Time This Season

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - ECAC Rookie of the Week, first-year Jacey Baldovino closes out her first-year regular season campaign racking up another weekly award. All together Baldovino has been recognized seven times throughout the year for her accomplishments.

The Bulldogs competed against Bridgeport, Brown and Centenary this past weekend where Baldovino won the all-around with a score of 39.075. She placed first on vault with a new career high of 9.800. Baldovino stepped up on Yale's second rotation and delivered a standout 9.775 balance beam performance from the anchor position. Additionally, she scored a 9.750 on the uneven bars and a 9.750 on floor. 

"Jacey is the perfect balance of fun and focus. She has been so integral to our success this year in and outside the gym. Her consistent routines combined with her unfailingly positivity brings extreme energy into the gym," said junior Roxanne Trachtenberg.

After the Bridgeport meet, Baldovino secured her spot as the number one ranked all-around gymnast in the ECAC.

"I am very honored to be awarded my seventh ECAC honor. It is a reminder that with hard work and dedication, you can achieve exactly what you are working towards. This award makes me want to work harder in practice to see what more I can accomplish," said Baldovino.

Yale is back in action on Saturday, Mar. 24, at the ECAC Championship at The Palestra at 12 p.m. Host team is Pennsylvania gymnastics.
