Questions with Alleyne:

Who is your biggest influence? Why? "My mom is definitely my biggest influence, as she is the one who continues to show me what it means to be a strong and intelligent woman who strives to use their voice to help themselves and others."

Favorite event? Why? "Although floor is a close second, my favorite event is beam because it takes so much focus and trust in yourself, but is exhilarating when you land a skill perfectly."

Why Yale? "I first chose Yale because I wanted to be in an environment that felt comfortable, a place where critical thinking is encouraged whether we are sitting in class or eating at a dining hall, and on a varsity team where I could compete in Division 1 gymnastics. This place has not only become home, but has given me the space to become a person that I love, both in and out of the lecture hall. Most importantly, I get to grow with and around extraordinary people that continue to challenge my world view."
