Mike Harris, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, is the Director of Strength & Conditioning at Yale. He began coaching multiple Yale varsity teams in the fall of 2013.

During his time at Yale, Harris has coached All-Ivy athletes, National Team and National Junior Team members, NCAA Division I qualifiers, men's basketball Ivy League champions, and an NFL-bound football player.

Harris was the recipient of the Sam Chauncey Award from the Yale men's squash team, which is awarded annually to the individual (not on the team) who has made the greatest contribution to the program.

Prior to arriving at Yale, he was the minor league strength & conditioning coach for the 2013 National League Champions St. Louis Cardinals baseball team.  He specialized in rehab conditioning for injured players, directed positional and pitcher conditioning, and assisted in updating the nutritional program.

Harris has also had experience working as an intern for the New York Giants and the Buffalo Bills, where assisted in leading conditioning exercises and working with players individually.  Additionally, he led nutrition education sessions and developed and directed an off-season speed program as the strength and conditioning assistant for the Chicago Bears in 2010-2011, taking part in the NFC North Championship.

Harris graduated from Springfield College in 2009 with a degree in applied exercise science and in 2013 with a graduate degree in exercise science and sports studies with a concentration in strength & conditioning.  As an undergraduate at Springfield, he competed for the football team on the offensive and defensive lines, and for the track and field team as a thrower.   While completing graduate education, Harris also served as the graduate assistant strength & conditioning coach and helped lead the Springfield College men's volleyball team to an NCAA DIII Championship.

He currently resides in Southbury, Conn., with his fiancée, Nicole.
