Yale Begins with ECAC Road Set
The Yale women's hockey team drops the puck on the 2018-19 regular season this Friday at Princeton (0-2), followed by an afternoon game at local rival Quinnipiac (0-4-2) on Saturday.
The Bulldogs look to snap a two-game skid against the Tigers while trying to extend a win streak to four against the Bobcats. The three consecutive Yale wins against Quinnipiac last season came as shutouts, highlighting the Elis' blueline depth.
"I like the depth we have on defense. We have five returning defensemen that are very capable, good players. I'm excited to see what we can do in our transition game, and they will continue to be a part of our offense as well," said Yale's Susan Cavanagh Head Coach Joakim Flygh.
Yale flashed its offensive depth on Oct. 13 in an exhibition against McGill that saw four different Elis score in the 4-4 OT draw. First-year defenseman Emma Seitz recorded two assists.
Flygh's goal for the team this season has not changed from last year. "We want to finish in the Top 4; that's always been our goal. We want an opportunity to be competitive on a national level."
Puck drop at Princeton is 6 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. at Quinnipiac on Saturday.
