Macauley is one of Yale's top scoring threats. Her 12 career goals are the most of any returning player. Last year, she tied for fourth on the team in goals with three. She scored the game-winning goal in Yale's Ivy League title clinching win over Brown and also scored in the victory over Central Connecticut in the first round of the NCAA College Cup. As a sophomore Macauley earned honorable mention All-Ivy recognition after leading the Bulldogs in scoring with 18 points, which tied for seventh in the Ivy League. Her six assists were fifth in the league, and she tied for eighth with six goals. After she scored twice in victories over Colgate and Penn, she was named the Ivy League Player of the Week. Against Quinnipiac, she assisted on both goals in a 2-0 win. In her rookie season, Macauley tied for second on the team in goals (3) and points (9). Two of her goals were game-winners, including against Georgetown when she was selected as the ECAC Player of the Game. She also scored the only goal against Penn. Against Fairfield she had two assists. Macauley lettered in soccer for four years at Wilton High School and captained the team for two seasons. She helped lead the squad to two state championships, and Wilton was at one point ranked fifth nationally. Her club teams won two state championships, and were state runners-up on three occasions. Macauley earned All-America, All-New England, all-state and All-FCIAC honors, and was twice named team MVP.
