Named To Mid Atlantic Region Second Team
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The National Soccer Coaches Association of America is the latest organization to honor Yale's Aerial Chavarin. Chavarin, who led the Bulldogs with nine goals, five assists and 23 points, has been named to the NSCAA All-Mid-Atlantic Region second team. She was the only freshman to be selected to any of the three Mid Athletic region teams.
Earlier this fall, Chavarin was selected as the Ivy League Rookie of the Year, earned first team All-Ivy recognition and was named to the All-New England second team.
Chavarin, an Oakland, California, native made an immediate impact for the Bulldogs. Her nine goals were the most by any freshman in the league and were tied for the third most overall, while her 23 points were third in the league. Two of her goals were game-winners, including against Bryant in the first game of her career which came with 1:55 left in the second half and snapped a 1-1 tie. She earned three Ivy Rookie of the Week selections during the season.
