Five Games Vs. Five Different Opponents At FAU's Parent's Weekend Tournament

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Last Sunday, snow was falling during the final innings of Yale's doubleheader sweep of Hartford at 5K Corral Field at DeWitt Family Stadium. This weekend, the Bulldogs will see the other end of the weather spectrum when they travel to the warmth of South Florida for the Florida Atlantic Parent's Weekend Tournament.

Yale (2-4) will play five games in three days, starting on Friday morning vs. Florida A&M at 9 a.m. Stony Brook (Fri., at 1:30 p.m.), Purdue (Saturday at 6 p.m.), Florida Atlantic (Saturday at 8:15 p.m.) and Long Island (Sunday at noon) are also on the schedule.

The trip is a homecoming for the five Florida natives on the roster. Carlin Hagmaier (Longwood), Mary Baumann (Orlando), Annie Tarte (Valrico), Cristina Teems (Boynton Beach) and Sydney Grobman (Coral Springs) all hail from the Sunshine State.

The Bulldogs are coming off a doubleheader sweep of Hartford last Sunday. Grobman, who homered and knocked home the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning of the second game, and Terra Jerpbak were named to the Ivy League Honor Roll on Monday for their performances in the two games. In addition, Hagmaier (four hits) and Shelby Kennedy (three hits) also had big days at the plate.

Florida A&M is playing in its fourth tournament of the season… Stony Brook (0-2) has had eight games cancelled on the young season. The Seawolves fell to Idaho State and Colorado State last weekend at Colorado State's Tournament… Purdue (11-6) has won four straight games heading into the tournament… Florida Atlantic (9-9) has a pair of wins over UConn and one over Fairfield on its resume… Long Island (10-6) has won seven straight games heading into the tournament.

Yale's single game next Wednesday, originally scheduled at Fairfield, will now be at 5K Corral Field at DeWitt Family Stadium. The first pitch against the Stags is slated for 2:30 p.m.
