Grobman Knocks Home Only Run In First inning

Yale ended its stay at the Florida Atlantic Parent's Weekend Tournament in style. Sydney Grobman's single scored Olivia Vinyard with the only run of the game in the first inning as the Bulldogs edged LIU Brooklyn in a crisp 1 hour, 40 minute, well-played game.

First year Nic Conway pitched the complete-game shutout. She yielded just three hits and struck out four to earn her third win of the season.

First-year Maya Seifert went 2-for-2. Vinyard, Annie Tarte and Phylicia Wilkov also had hits.

LIU Brooklyn had the tying run on second base in the seventh inning, but Conway recorded a strikeout to end the game.

The Bulldogs will be back in New Haven to host Fairfield in a single game on Wednesday at 5K Corral Field and DeWitt Family Stadium. The first pitch is slated for 2:30 p.m.
