Jerpbak Named To First Team, Grobman, Kennedy Second Team Selections, Vinyard Honorable Mention

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – It was a successful season for the Yale softball team, and four Bulldogs who made significant contributions to that success have been honored with All-Ivy recognition. Terra Jerpbak was named the first team pitcher/utility, catcher Sydney Grobman and outfielder Shelby Kennedy were second team selections and outfielder Olivia Vinyard earned honorable mention recognition.

Jerpbak, who excelled both in the circle and at the plate, is second in the Ivy League with 87 strikeouts. In addition, she led the Yale pitching staff in wins (8), starts (14), complete games (7) and innings pitched (107.2).

Jerpbak, a senior, finished her outstanding career with 301 strikeouts, the second most in school history.

At the plate this season, Jerpbak batted .311, and in 21 Ivy League games, she knocked in 13 runs, which was second on the team, and batted .310.

Kennedy, a senior, was one of three players on the team to start all 43 games. She leads the league with 18 stolen bases and is tied for fifth with 28 runs scored and is seventh with a .422 on base percentage.

Kennedy, who earned All-Ivy honors three times, finished her career with 66 stolen bases, the third most in school history. In addition, her 83 runs scored are tied for the 10th most at Yale.

Grobman, a sophomore, was a second team selection for the second straight year. In her rookie season, she earned the honor at first base before making the transition to catcher this spring. Her statistics were even better in 21 Ivy games when she batted .429 with five doubles, two home runs and 16 RBI.
