Game 1 Box Score | Game 2 Box Score

Allie Canulli hit her second home run of the season and Aracelis Torres had four hits, but Yale dropped a doubleheader to two-time defending Ivy League champion Princeton at Dewitt Family Field. Kristen Schaus pitched an eight hitter and struck out five to lead the Tigers to a 4-1 10-inning victory in the first game. In the second game, Kathryn Welch was 4-for-4 with three RBI as Princeton won 6-3.

In the first game, Welch's RBI single in the first inning gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead. It looked like that might be all Schaus would need.

Instead, Yale tied it in the fifth. With one out, Kyli Hanson singled. She stole second and then scored on Ashley Sloan's two-out RBI single to center.

The Bulldogs (13-7, 0-4 Ivy) had a number of scoring chances. In the fourth, Torres led off with a double and moved to third on Megan Enyeart's sacrifice bunt. Schaus, though, worked out of the jam.

Yale nearly won it in the bottom of the eighth. With two out, Christina Guerland singled and moved to third on Torres's single to right, but Schaus retired the next hitter to end the threat. The Bulldogs left seven runners on base in the game.

Princeton (13-18, 4-0 Ivy) finally snapped the tie by scoring three runs in the 10th.

Rebecca Wojciak was the hard-luck loser. She allowed three earned runs in 9.1 innings and struck out four. Holly Gutterud got the final two outs for the Bulldogs.

Schaus, Wojciak and Gutterud combined to throw 304 pitches in the game.

In the second game, the Tigers grabbed the early lead by scoring twice in the first inning. Yale got one back in the second when Enyeart led off with a triple and scored on Katie Edwards's sacrifice fly to left.

Princeton added two runs in the third on Welsh's RBI bunt single and Jamie Lettire's sacrifice fly.

Canulli's two-run homer in the fourth pulled Yale within 4-3, but the Tigers sealed the victory in the fifth on back-to-back RBI singles by Collette Abbott and Brianna Moreno.

Lettire pitched a seven-hitter for Princeton. Kayla Kuretich went the distance for the Bulldogs and allowed four earned runs.

The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday when they host a doubleheader against St. John's beginning at 3 p.m.
