NEW HAVEN, Conn.-- Divers of the women's swimming and diving team Talbott Paulsen, McKenna Tennant, and Hannah Walsh are set to compete at the NCAA Zone Diving Championship this week. The meet will be contested at Rutgers University at the Rutgers Aquatic Center in Piscataway, N.J. The competition will take place over three days from Mar. 5-7.
This will be the most challenging competition that the divers have faced all year. Regardless, it will be a valuable experience for them. Last year, only Tennant competed at the NCAA Zone Championships. This year, she is competing with two other teammates.
Paulsen, Tennant, and Walsh will build on a strong season thus far. Walsh had placed third in the 1-meter event at the Ivy League Championships. Meanwhile, Tennant placed second in the 3-meter dive and tenth overall in the 1-meter dive at the Ivy League Championships. This will be her third appearance at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships.
Preliminaries of the 1-meter event will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 5. Preliminaries of the 3-meter event will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6.
