GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The 2018 US Winter National Championships began on Wednesday night. The Yale women's swimming and diving team has eight representatives at the meet, and two off them competed in their first event on Wednesday.
The 800-meter freestyle was the sole event on Wednesday night, and junior Kendall Brent and sophomore Nathalie Eid competed in the event. In a race in which Olympic gold medalist Katie Ledecky placed first, Brent placed 13th and Eid placed 33rd. Brent finished with a time of 8:50.81, and Eid touched in 9 minutes, 12.10 seconds.
The Winter Nationals continue on Thursday.
