NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's tennis team will send one player – first year Mimi Levine – to compete in the prestigious ITA All-American Championships on Tuesday. As one of the major events of the season, the All-American Championships feature the very best competitors in collegiate tennis. Levine, who earned a Wild Card selection to the tournament's qualifying singles draw earlier this month, will look to make a statement in her first official action as a Bulldog.
Coming to Yale as one of the top recruits in the nation, Levine will enter the tournament with high expectations. Still, if she can manage to reach the main draw and hold her own among the top 32 players in collegiate tennis, Levine would solidify a fantastic start to her first season on the team.
Beginning on Oct. 3, the opening round of the All-American qualifying draw will feature 64 total players, eight of whom will have prevailed in prequalifying. Players must win three rounds to advance to the tournament's main draw. All matches will be held at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif. Draws will be posted when made available.
