Bulldogs Engineer Comeback Win Over No. 35 Columbia

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Yale women's tennis team picked up one of their best wins of the season on Saturday, beating No. 35 Columbia in a 4-3 comeback thriller to move to 2-0 in Ivy League play.

The Lions got off to an early lead on the afternoon after claiming the doubles point. They won the No. 1 and No. 3 matches 6-2 and 6-4 respectively. The No. 2 match, which was knotted at 5 games all, did not finish as a result.

Columbia continued to build their lead with a straight sets victory in the No. 5 match and a three set victory in the No. 6 matchup. With the Lions up 3-0 and one match away from victory, the Bulldogs staged a dramatic comeback. Raissa Lou gutted out a first set tiebreak before winning a straightforward second set, cutting the lead to 3-1.
